The Spiritual Future of Humanity

(the first of four online discussions)

May 21, 2021

GPIW is pleased to announce a series of four online conversations to take place during the late Spring/ early Summer on “The Spiritual Future of Humanity”.

Each of the conversations will include perspectives of a small group of spiritual teachers on how humanity will be impacted by the increasing use of technology, advances in science, changes in the environment, and in the climate. All such change represents an opportunity for a growth in wisdom, but they also present various challenges. Will we be able to use our spiritual resources to adapt and meet these changes wisely, and to cultivate a more compassionate, equitable and sustainable world?

First Conversation

11:30AM – 1:00PM EDT

Discussants Include:
Swami Nirvanananda Saraswati, Italy
Sundaram La Pierre, Himalayan Heritage Satsang, California

and others

Responding to the Voice of Nature
A Discussion with Swamini Pramananda

May 27th, 2021

Swamini Pramananda is a monastic who received her training under the late Swami Dayananda Saraswati. Her activities in India and abroad center around transmitting the essence of the ancient wisdom of the rishis and sages. She has joined many of GPIW’s international dialogues related to ecology and peacebuilding.

As we enter this time of transition we are being called to deepen our relationship with Sacred Earth and reclaim the spirit of gratitude that the Dharmic traditions uphold. What simple practices can help us come again into a sacred relationship with the natural world? The conversation will be moderated by Dena Merriam.

Swamini Pramananda is a Vedanta Teacher and international speaker. Over the years she has joined GPIW at many meetings including the UN Climate Summit COP15 in Copenhagen. She is a gifted writer and has authored more than 24 books on various aspects of Vedanta. She is active in educational and community work in the Himalayan region and on the upper reaches of the Ganga River. She directs a spiritual community called Purna Vidya -- who responded swiftly to support the local people during the Kedarnath disaster and also during other times of difficulty. She engages local villages and mountain communities in environmental restoration projects as well as conducts educational programs for young people on preserving the mountain region. Swamini Pramananda’s study of Vedanta began at a young age under the guidance of her teacher the late Swami Dayananda Saraswati. Her wisdom, love, and experience is imbued in all her humanitarian activities.
