In March of 2020, GPIW convened a small think tank of spiritual leaders at the Govardhan Eco Village in Maharashtra, India to discuss Hinduism and its relevance today - as Hinduism is being conflated with political ideologies, many are missing the deeper essence of the beautiful spiritual tradition - topics such as unity, overcoming duality, and living in harmony with Mother Earth.

In 2016 The Global Peace Initiative of Women (GPIW) launched a series of global dialogues with emerging young people working in the environmental field. We partnered with Dharma Drum Mountain Buddhist Association (DDMBA) and the Earth Charter International to help young people look at the climate crisis from a different perspective, not just listen to statistics.

‘TECHNOLOGY, CONSCIOUSNESS and the FUTURE’ brought together mystics, contemplatives and thought leaders with leaders in technology from Silicon Valley. The idea was to better understand how innovation, when conceived from a place aligned with love and the greater spiritual whole, could generate technologies that have positive, life-serving benefit to the human community and the Earth.
In November 2014, the Contemplative Alliance and the Sophia Institute of Charleston, SC partnered to organize a community roundtable on the theme Awakening the Wisdom of the Heart: Protecting and Caring for Earth’s Community of Life. Joined by faith and spiritual leaders, ecological advocates and others based in the Charleston area, the group convened for two days at the Lance Hall of the historic Circular Congregational Church in downtown Charleston.

Climate change poses an unprecedented challenge and opportunity for the human community. Much will depend on how we respond over the next few years. What is perhaps most greatly needed is the guidance of our spiritual traditions, the wisdom and the love that comes from deep prayer and contemplative practice.
The Global Peace Initiative of Women (GPIW) organized a strong gathering of spiritual leaders from across the world in support of the United Nations Conference on Climate Change COP15 that took place in Copenhagen in December of 2009.
The Global Peace Initiative of Women brought together women religious and spiritual leaders to to explore how they could contribute to reconciliation and healing in areas of conflict and tension. Held at the Palais des Nations in Geneva between Oct 6-9 2002, this meeting brought together over 600 women from over 70 countries - thus was born the Global Peace Initiative of Women.
