Javed Omardeen - A Legacy of Love for the Earth

With heavy hearts we announce that young ecology leader, Javad Omardeen was tragically murdered in Trinidad and Tobago earlier this month. We honor him and express our profound gratitude in having come to know this remarkable young man. GPIW offers deepest condolences to his parents, Drs. Faroze and Stephanie Omardeen and his family.

Many in the GPIW global family will know Javed who joined GPIW in 2017 at an Inner Dimensions of Climate Change meeting in Costa Rica. His serene and loving presence made a deep impression on all who had the fortune to meet him.  Since that time, he has participated in numerous other gatherings and meetings and each time we learned from him what it means to be a true human being that is connected to the sacred nature of all life.

Javed's family has created a small website about Javed, where people can add their own reflections.  All are welcome to post here. We hope you will take the time to see the short video on the website that reflects his pure soul and love for the Earth.  Click Here

“God and this sacred planet we call Mother Earth have called us to do this work, both from outside us and from within. There is a real potential for humanity and nature to have once again a harmonious and mutually supportive relationship. Initiatives life this propel us to help make this a potential reality.”
