Mother Sita and Her Relevance Today

During the last declining Treta Yuga, several thousand years b.c.e., Ram, Sita and Ram’s brother Lakshman traveled south from their kingdom in northern India through wild jungles, protecting the sages and hermitages, and ridding the area of the cannibal tribes that were creating havoc across the region. When they reached the source of this destructive energy, Sita had to enter the heart of the demon kingdom and Ram had to engage in a brutal war to free the world of this demonic force that was damaging all of nature and humanity. Sita’s love for the earth and all the natural world during this era of higher awareness holds an important message for us today.
